7 Haiku

Honking pair of geese
rowing their heavy bodies
just over the trees

An old mobile home
chained to a rumbling tow truck—
police lights flashing

Lit by her phone’s screen
as she stamps down the dark street—
a girl’s pretty face

*

Intricate whistling
of a hidden morning bird—
I can tell he’s tiny

Cloudy city park—
green bleeding smell of cut grass,
my slow steps spongy

Hunched lady waiting
at a bus stop before dawn
yawns into her glove

*

Friday after work—
leave that crowded train and walk
home in golden light

.
